What is a web camera?

A web camera is a video camera that is connected to a computer or laptop via USB cable or wireless transceiver. Web cameras are used to take photos and record videos, which can be shared on the Internet.

Webcams are usually built into computers, but can also be purchased as standalone devices. They are commonly found in offices and other locations where video teleconferencing is utilized.

How do you activate your laptop web camera?

To activate your laptop's built-in webcam, you must first install the driver software that came with your device. If you don't have the driver disc, check your computer manufacturer's website for updates or a download.
